Revamp K-12 education system practice for hiring and firing educators.

Created by S.M. on January 03, 2013

The K-12 education system is the root of our children's future, but it is currently controlled by Unions instead of neighborhoods and the tax payers. Teachers' salaries and work conditions should be protected by Unions - not their ability to work or not. A poor performing teacher should be held accountable and not rest solely on their tenure status. Great teachers should also be recognized (locally and nationally). There is a balance between removing poor teachers and protecting teachers from arbitrary dismissal due to the changing winds. College professors are tenured after a long and grueling academic review - public school teachers are tenured after approximately 2 years. Why must our children suffer for the sake of job security? Let's send a message to our administration - Kids first!
