Our legislative branch has too much power and very little oversight. Our founding fathers did not envision the position to be a life long appointment. Why should the people WE vote for be able to be bought off by large corporations that are not even in their district. I am in the USAF and have to serve 20 years in order to retire and receive any form of retirement, why should our elected officials be able to receive benefits after one term? I get plenty of time off in a fiscal year which is 30 days, why do they get half of the year? And more time with their families during the holidays when the "fiscal cliff" is looming. Where are their priorities? Oh I forgot it is in their deep pockets thanks to their friends the lobbyists.
