In the last few months there have been increasing numbers of news stories about the Department of Homeland Security and other more unlikely agencies purchasing outrageous amounts of ammunition in addition to armored vehicles and weapons. Speculations include, among other things, preparation for civil war or preventing availability of ammunition to honest, law-abiding citizens for sporting use or self protection. Ammunition has become very difficult to find and unreasonably expensive due to the federal government's hording. Is this an effort by the government to prevent citizens from exercising their second amendment right? Manipulation of the market is not a right given to the government by the Constitution. We have a right to know.
