Reverse Citizens United and give federal and state governments the power to regulate campaign contributions.

This petition would call for a constitutional amendment. This amendment would make it clear that corporations are not people and give power to the government to regulate campaign contributions. Passing this would make elections fairer and more transparent. If citizens united is kept intact it gives unprecedented powers to corporations to influence elected officials to write laws that favor the 1% while the 99% suffer. Such bills have been written like S.J.Res.29 and H. J. RES. 88 if you want to check them out. This is not a partisan issue but a populous one. According to a resent gallup poll this was the second most important issue with 87% saying it was extremely/very important.
