The soldiers killed and injured at Ft. Hood deserve the honor of being recognized for injuries sustained in armed conflict with an enemy of the United States of America. The government has declared the attack workplace violence and this deprives the soldiers attacked of the recognition and federal benefits that a service member wounded or killed in combat are entitled to.
The President should reverse the decision made by the federal government and award those affected Purple Hearts and the access and benefits granted to veteran's wounded while in armed conflict.
