The purpose of this petition is to reverse the decision of a settlement involving Hagens Berman against six of the largest youth soccer groups.
According to an ESPN article, the settlement states that "...U.S. players who are aged 10 and under will no longer be able to head the ball, while players aged 11 through 13 will be restricted by a length of practice with headers and number of total headers allowed per player per week (ESPN, Darren Rovell)."
This decision should be reversed immediately due to the fact it will directly effect the quality of soccer and slow the progression of soccer in the Unites States. Heading the ball is a basic principle when learning to play the game. With proper training early enough players can greatly reduce their risk of injury.
