Reverse the electronic payment of federal benefits mandate and restore to all the option of payment by paper check.

Created by B.B. on November 14, 2012

A significant number of people find electronic payment of benefits to be neither convenient nor safer and want to continue to be paid by paper check. Treasury's direct deposit/debit card payment mandate will cause needless anxiety for these people. The option of continued payment by paper check should be available for anyone who wishes to be paid in this fashion. Through normal attrition, the number of paper check payments will gradually decline anyway. The savings envisioned by Treasury will still occur---just over a little longer period of time. But retaining the paper check option will enhance the quality of life of those who want to be paid this way. The value of government goodwill to such individuals is priceless
