Google has changed its Google Images policy in February 2013, and no longer links immediately to the website where the picture can be found. Instead they keep the user on their Google website and placed a few links to the host-website as to compensate a little bit.
Google promised that this change would benefit the webmasters in the long run, but that was a lie. People didn't click on the links, instead they downloaded the high quality picture without even passing by the website hosting the image.
After more than a year, webmasters all over the world still lose traffic, in average between 30% and 60% of their potential visitors, with loss in revenue and ranking. And all of this while Google enjoys the benefits and flourish on the backs of other peoples work.
