The ban on the importation of Antique Military Firearms is truly appalling. This should, at the very least, be amended to allow historic weapons such as the M1 Garand, with little chance of dangerous misuse, to be repatriated. Such a ban has no logic.
This particular firearm is a symbol of American ingenuity and was invaluable in helping save the world, and scores of American lives, from the actions and intentions of the Axis Powers . The effect it had on the success of World War Two are well known buy all.
It is shameful that such prime examples of our history should be withheld from those who realize the importance and heroism this rifle stands for. We must remember the times when the entire country rose together to fight this horrible war that threatened our freedoms.
