Reverse the nomination of Mumia Abu-Jamal to the DOJ Civil Rights Division

Created by C.O. on January 11, 2014

Recently, President Obama nominated Mumia Abu-Jamal to the Department of Justice Civil Liberties Division, as an assistant attorney general. This nomination should be reversed, as Mr. Abu-Jamal was convicted of murdering Philadelphia Police Officer Daniel Faulkner. This nomination shows that the current Administration does not disagree with Mr. Abu-Jamal's action. However, as Mr. Abu-Jamal murdered a police officer who was protecting life and property, it would be unacceptable for him to serve in any government position.

Again, Mr. President, we the undersigned petition you to reverse your nomination of Mr. Mumia Abu-Jamal for the position of Assistant Attorney General for the Civil Liberties Division, Department of Justice.
