The Army recently put into place a regulation banning sleeve tattoos and new tattoos below the elbows and knees. The Army states that this makes Soldiers unprofessional during times of peace.
This is discrimination on Soldiers who have fought for the past 13 years with tattoos. We were good enough for them to fight but not to be garrison Soldiers! Tattoos are a part of our history and traditions as much as anything else!
There are Soldiers who have incomplete tattoos that cannot get them finished, Soldiers who have tattoos that are mistakes can't get them covered up with new art.
To say that Soldiers with tattoos below the knees or elbows cannot become Officers is absurd. It's CLASSIST and discriminatory.
