A federal judge dismissed the suit on Tuesday, April 14th 2016 brought by Stephen Cavanaugh, who is serving a 4- to 8-year term on assault and weapons charges at the Nebraska State Penitentiary. US District Judge John Gerrard ruled that "FSMism" isn't a religion like the ones protected under the Constitution.

If a Judge can rule on someone's belief (even if it was recently created), that it can't be religious because it is fictitious. Then said ruling can be applied on any religion.
by signing this petition we are asking the government to uphold the Freedom of Religious beliefs, and to reverse Judge John Gerrard's ruling. So anyone is allowed to believe in anything (Jedi, etc)
