Revert the current Food Assistance program (Food Stamps) back to the Commidity system of public food assistance.

Created by M.P. on March 03, 2013

Reverting the current "Food Stamp", food assistance program back to the old way of Commodities given out as food assistance would do numerous things to help lower the overall assistance given to dependents while increasing the amount of nutritional foods getting into households. The Commodity program would allow people to get a SUPPLEMENTAL amount of FDA approved nutritional food for their families instead of irrational spending of these funds for unneeded and non-nutritional products. It would save the government money because food production businesses could provide food to this program at a reduced rate due to volume pricing. Complaints may arise in opposition to this but as long as your family is receiving food assistance then it shouldn't matter how it gets done.
