Review the 2nd Amendment and Realize it's for the good of the American People

As our country still mourns the tragedy of Sandy Hook we look at a call for reform and action. Unfortunately the answer that's been tossed around is a ban on firearms, and I feel that it is wrong path to go down. First off I will say that I do agree with the mandatory background checks as I think they are a great way to help regulate firearms from people who would use them for the wrong reasons and intentionally seek out to harm another person. I feel however the ban on assault weapons will only lead to more strict laws on other firearms down the road and that it should be stopped. There are bad people in the world and gun control is only going to strip the responsible honest citizens of a means to protect themselves and their families, and we need to protect and preserve our rights too.
