Review and address the Constitutionality of license requirements pertaining to the purchase and possession of firearms.

Created by G.M. on May 06, 2013

The second amendment to the Constitution guarantees every citizen the individual right to keep and bear arms. Several states, such as MA, MD, and NY, amongst others, have instituted laws which require, on various levels, the attainment of a license for certain aspects of firearm ownership, possession, and carrying. Many states have laws which require a license to simply own a firearm (of any kind). This petition seeks to address the question as to to why a citizen must attain governmental approval and forfeit a monetary sum in order to practice his/her inherent natural right. The founders of our great country granted the People, every individual, with this right, and expressly stated that it, in no way, is to be infringed upon. Such licensing laws appear to be extremely infringing.
