Review and Change Congressional and Executive Staff Pay and Benefits!

Created by B.N. on January 14, 2013

American median income is around $50,000 while Congressional salary is $174,000 + premium benefits & perks available to only them.

While being a Congressman is by no means an easy job, with an approval rating below 30%, I think it is time we re-examined and modernized how their salaries and benefits are structured, and tied them directly to an incentivized performance scale related to the economy.

For example, their salaries could be based on successfully doing discrete things such as passing balanced budgets on time, or could be tied directly to a public approval rating vote. Additionally, their healthcare, pensions, and benefits should be on the same level as all other federal employees (FEHB&FERS), with no special exceptions!

Show us that you really ARE trying to fix this economy!!
