I propose that the government review and reform copyright laws reducing their term to not more than 25 years and making them non renewable. Since you seem worried about online piracy and other "thefts" of material; make them come out of eternal copyright. Make the copyright term a reasonable length to allow the artist to make some money then allow the public access to it. The same should apply to apply to patents as well and minor adjustments in medical formulas should not give a new renewal to the patent.
