Since its origins in mediocre science fiction novels, a few private individuals have painted the "Church" of Scientology with a veil of "religion" in order to prey upon vulnerable people suffering from low self esteem, conning them out of money, their freedom of thought, and in many occasions, their friends and family. Members are often the victims of physical abuse and subject to a level of surveillance that only the CIA could appreciate. Replete with a megalomaniac and military regalia, if Nazis founded a pyramid scheme, this is it.
It's well past time (and literally billions of tax dollars) to objectively evaluate the "Church" of Scientology, and revoke its tax exempt status.
