On Monday May 6th the Post tribune of Chicago published a article detailing the budget and debt Crisis at the Field Museum. In this article they detailed how expensive it is funding and maintaining the museums collection (which is one of the largest in the world) and how the museum is now faced with millions of dollars in cuts. They will be eliminating curator and research positions and this will hurt the heart of the museum if they reduce these specifics areas. I propose that the Obama administration try and find some sort of public funding to help keep such an important research institution alive and working to its fullest potential.
