We the people ask the federal government to Call on Congress to act on an issue:

Review the DoD Exceptional Family Member Program

Created by R.U. on November 04, 2016

We the people ask Congress to review the current DoD EFMP and enact the following changes immediately:

1. Get rid of current personnel assignment code that groups all medical conditions under one code. Replace this with a two digit identifier code that identifies a range of severity of the condition from minor, major, severe, to life threatening.
2. Give assignment priority to service members with EFM's who have severe to life threatening conditions, outside of manning requirements.
3. Require HQ EFMP to follow written guidance of the EFM's care providers instead of making a determination of their own without ever being involved in the care process.
4. Require HQ EFMP to honor all reassignment requests if it is to continue an established EFMP for EFM's with severe conditions.
