The compensation for a daily wage of a person drafted for jury duty in state courts is close to $10 per day, federal courts offer about $40 per day, which is totally failing in equivalency to the current minimum wage for a 8 hour days work, or the daily lost wages of most other employed persons. The rate needs to be changed to support those who have supported our legislative system by performing their duty as a citizen. This will not only help our jurors, but it will help to take away part of the stigma of serving on a jury because of poor compensation, which would help to provide more jurors for our overburdened system.
