Only four Congressional Medals of Honor have been awarded to heroes of the various Armed Services for their acts of courage in the Iraq War. All four were awarded posthumously. The last award was presented in 2008. There is not one single living recipient of the CMH from the Iraq War. Considering the huge number of service member deployments and the very tough battles fought during the invasion and the subsequent years in places like Fallujah, Sadr City, Samarra, and countless other operational areas, it is absurd to conclude that no acts of bravery are worthy of recognition with the Congressional Medal of Honor. Require the White House to instruct the Office of the Secretary of Defense to conduct a new collection and review of award submissions, and right this grave wrong.
