As of Feb 2012 wages are automatically "garnished" from a person's pay by court order on all child support orders, regardless of the member showing ability to pay or not.
By including the (BAH/BAS) into the calculation of "Disposable income" to determine the amount for child support is NOT a true calculation. Some members live on base in military housing & receive the BAH/BAS BUT this is automatically taken right back out every month & the member never sees it. Others live off base due to Govt quarters not being furnished on base & still pay local rent fees that are usually above what they are provided in the BAH.
