Review the Potential Human Rights Violated and Economic Damage Perpetrated by Student Loan Insolvency

Created by J.W. on April 24, 2015

This petition is a plea to see a reasoned argument on the long term damage being done to a generation of students seeking to increase their earning potential and societal value by obtaining an education. Students are dealing with crippling and often generational levels of student debt with no realistic way to achieve solvency. The Federal Student Loan currently has 7 million former students in default. The Federal Student Loan Debt total is 1 trillion and climbing rapidly. These circumstances are preventing an entire class of United States Citizens from participating in the economy as an active participant. A method needs to be established which will allow Student Debt to be forgiven in a court of Bankruptcy. A fresh start for millions of students would be an enormous economic boon.
