Recently, there has been an increase in discharges for military personal under the guise of "personality disorder." (Denver Post: "U.S. military illegally discharging veterans with personality disorder, report says" Mar. 12 2012, as yell as a Yale Law Document "Casting Troops Aside:The United States Military’s Illegal Personality Disorder Discharge Problem"
Congress investigated the issue in 2008. and has led to tighter guidelines for these discharges, leading it to the number discharges due to diagnosis to drop. The issue still remains that veterans can not receive benefits for discharges under this.
I am petitioning to update 38 CFR to include "Personality Disorder" to have people who have served a way to file for benefits, and a way to challenge, and change their separation code.
