revise the 27th amendment which allows Congress to receive pay during a government shutdown

Created by J.M. on October 01, 2013

We the people wish to alter the 27th Amendment which states "No law, varying the compensation for the services of the Senators and Representatives, shall take effect, until an election of Representatives shall have intervened," (U.S. Const. Amend. XXVII) to halt pay for Senators and Representatives during a government shut down. This will create a furlough to align them with the civilian workforce.
