Revise election laws in order to condense the federal election season into a much shorter, more reasonable time frame.

The past few elections have shown the current system to be seriously flawed. Candidates for office begin to declare their candidacies nearly two years prior to the actual election and well in advance of the state primaries and caucuses. The justification is likely that this enables time for the proper vetting of candidates by voters and the media. This is not the 19th century, where information took months to be communicated across the country. Information is only a Google search or FOIA request away. There is no need for a two-year election cycle, especially when candidates who already hold office are taking time away from their current job to try to get the next one. A shorter cycle also forces the voters to do their due diligence and rely less on sound bytes to make up their minds.
