For more than 20 years, people have the ability to read up on their most favorable candidates and vote for them. The electoral college has helped voters vote for their most popular candidates in the past, but in today's society the people have grown more aware on who they want to vote for, and twice as many don't vote because in the electoral college, they vote based on which party did the best in each state, and so they believe that their vote doesn't and/or matter. So as I write this, it is time to allow the voting men and women of the Untied States to place their own vote with their own voice, without the aid of the electoral college.
