revise the federal tax code to tax all income above the poverty level, including benefits, at a single flat rate.

Created by D.L. on November 16, 2012

Tax all income above the poverty level, including benefits, at a single flat rate. All forms of income would be taxed, including dividends, stock options, etc. This would create a fair and equitable burden on all taxpayers. Corporate income tax could be eliminated, allowing resources to be used to grow businesses and create jobs. When business assets are transferred to individuals, including through the sale of the business, the funds would then be taxed as personal income. The cap on Social Security contributions would also be removed, providing the same rate for all. This reform would be fair across the board.
