Revise FERS retirement supplement, eliminate or revise supplement.

Created by D.C. on January 17, 2016

As a retired Federal Officer from the Bureau of Prisons, I would like congress to look at and revise the law in regards to the Earnings Limits on Federal Officers after Retirement income from other employment.

According to OPM the pay cap is $15720.00, any earnings over this after MRA date you are penalized on your supplement. This is not a social security supplement but yet follows the same rules.

This amount should be eliminated or revised to a reasonable figure which allows an individual to maintain the lifestyle prior to retirement.

By restricting an individual from earning is penalizing for wanting to work, but yet people unwilling to work are rewarded. By working you are contributing to social security and federal tax, why restrict this program from growing.
