Daily, thousands of tons of Canadian garbage are trucked into Michigan landfills for disposal.
Because he North American Free Trade Act (NAFTA) considers trash to be an economic commodity, the citizens of Michigan are powerless to stop this massive inflow of trash, which includes medical waste.
In addition to Michigan's landscape being dotted with huge open landfills to accept Canadian trash, the enormous (and often overweight) trash haulers clog and damage our roads and leave loose trash in their wakes.
Please revisit the terms of the NAFTA agreement, and allow Michigan to stop being Ontario's trash heap.
