Revise patent laws and regulations in order to prevent corporate abuse and encourage innovation.

Created by K.B. on July 22, 2013

Large corporations have been abusing the patent system for years, creating patents on hundreds of technologies and design concepts for various products that these companies have no intention of using in any near future products.
These patents are being made so that companies can keep other companies from profiting on ideas that have not been implemented into any current products. This is slowing innovation and creates "patent wars" between corporations.
I propose a reform on patent law, where the time a corporation could benefit from a patent would be significantly shortened, to 5 years perhaps, so that the company can profit for some time on new technologies but not hold back creation of similar products for extended periods of time. More innovation, new products, stimulate the economy.
