REVISE THE SNAP PROGRAM (FORMERLY KNOWN AS FOOD STAMPS) TO ONLY ALLOW HEALTHY FOOD CHOICES WHILE ON PROGRAM.

Created by N.T. on November 13, 2012

Poverty stricken participants should not be allowed to purchase junk foods (sodas and foods high in sugar/fat content). The revised plan would restrict what participants are allowed to purchase in this program and a preselected plan of foods (fruits, vegetables, whole grains, protein) would be offered as purchase choices for the participant just as they are offered in the WIC program. Although we live in an age where most foods and beverages are more harmful than helpful, simple changes to this program would save millions of our governments dollars by making us a healthier nation as a whole, thus cutting down government funded medical care to those that suffer from food induced health problems.
