Revisit the Fairness Doctrine, requiring news outlets to report only objective facts.

Created by R.M. on December 02, 2012

"The Fairness Doctrine was a policy of the United States Federal Communications Commission (FCC), introduced in 1949, that required the holders of broadcast licenses to both present controversial issues of public importance and to do so in a manner that was, in the Commission's view, honest, equitable and balanced."
-Wikipedia

The Fairness Doctrine was repealed under the Reagan administration in fear that it would restrict the right to free speech. With today's level of media bias, we face another problem. Our right to information is being clouded through self-proclaimed news networks that currently, under federal law, aren't required to present objective facts. Let's look towards a modern-day reincarnation of the Fairness Doctrine to fix this problem in modern broadcasting.
