revisit the health care issue and support giving all Americans the opportunity to sign up for Medicare.

America is the greatest nation on Earth. Unfortunately, we American citizens don't enjoy the greatest health care on Earth. The majority of us are one serious health issue away from bankruptcy because we are uninsured or under-insured due to the high costs of purchasing health insurance from private, for-profit insurance companies, who gouge us with outrageous premiums, especially those of us with pre-existing conditions. I offer my family of four as an example: last year, our income was approximately $65,000. Our health care costs, including insurance premiums, deductables, prescription drugs, etc., totaled $25,000. In short, about 40% of our adjusted net income went to health care costs.
