Revisit the idea of four time zones with the intent to consolidate into either two or one zone for the whole country.

For far too long our nation has existed in a state of spatiotemporal segregation. This proposal is designed to unify our nation in time, creating an environment where business men and women will no longer have to cross-reference time zones when dialing into a conference call and/or confirming meeting times. A relic of well over a century, the concept of four time zones (as well as daylight savings time) was once seen as a necessary component of a prosperous, mainly agrarian society. Put more simply, prior to the advent of artificial lighting (read: light bulbs) in our homes, our lives were dictated by the rising and falling of the sun. As our economy has transitioned to a mainly service-oriented economy, our use of separate time zones has changed. It is "time" for change.
