revitalize the economy by allowing the wildfires in Colorado to consume the state and using the space for solar panels.

Created by C.E. on June 15, 2013

In light of (no pun intended) the terrible wildfires sweeping through Colorado presently, I propose taking these lemons and making lemonade (metaphorically speaking of course).

Recent studies have suggested that a space of just 124,250 square kilometers of solar panels would be enough to power the whole of the United States. The State of Colorado holds more than enough surface area to meet this number. Therefore, if we were to cover the entire state with solar panels, we could meet and exceed the energy needs of the nation. But letting the current wildfires in Colorado propagate (and perhaps even assisting in the matter) we could free up this space.

The construction and maintenance of these solar panels would provide countless jobs and even help reduce global warming.
