We the people ask the federal government to Call on Congress to act on an issue:

Revive the fight for the Equal Rights Amendment

Created by K.H. on November 10, 2016

The Equal Rights Amendment

Section 1. Equality of rights under the law shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of sex.

Section 2. The Congress shall have the power to enforce, by appropriate legislation, the provisions of this article.

Originally introduced in 1923, and passed by both houses of Congress in 1974, the Equal Rights Amendment was never ratified by the states. We call on our President and Congress to reintroduce and pass this amendment, and call for the ratification of said amendment by all 50 of the states.

Women have broken almost every glass ceiling there is; yet we do not have equal protection under the constitution as our male counterparts. We call for the end to this injustice.
