Revoke the $500 million giveaway to Amgen for Sensipar in the fiscal cliff law.

Created by S.S. on January 20, 2013

In the final draft of the fiscal cliff law, Democratic and Republican senators snuck in a provision to give Amgen $500 million. The provision gives Amgen a further two-year extension to sell Sensipar, a drug for kidney dialysis patients, free from government Medicare price restrictions. Amgen has already received one extension. The senators received huge campaign contributions from Amgen. See the story at http://nyti.ms/VCCBmh. This may seem a drop in the bucket. But none of our money should be spent without a good reason. Otherwise, the politicians are simply laundering your money through Amgen and other corporations for their own campaigns.
