On December 20, 2013, the Ugandan parliament approved "The Anti Homosexuality Bill". Under this new law, homosexual individuals are subject to arrest with sentences up to and including life imprisonment. Even failing to report homosexual behaviors by others is cause for arrest.
We request that the US send a strong message to the Ugandan government that the systematic oppression of a segment of their society will not be supported with US taxpayer money. We request that the US remove all military and financial assistance to the Ugandan government until this horrible law is repealed. We further request that the US government strongly consider closing the embassy should the Ugandan government refuse.
