Since the 1950's most all mass shootings (with the exception of the Arizona shooting in January of 2011) occurred in a gun free zone, leaving scores of law abiding Americans defenseless and murdered. In the time it takes for police officers to arrive and intervene, we have seen how many innocent unarmed people can be killed. It is no coincidence that these shootings occur where the shooter stands little chance of being stopped. In most all cases the shooter takes their own life before someone can apprehend them, indicating that the shooter planned the shooting to be on their own terms. Remove the well intended "gun free zones", and the tables will be turned on the potential shooters and not only deter shootings but end them promptly before many more innocent people die.
