The BSA stands on its position affirmed by the Supreme Court in BSA v. Dale that they are a private organization not required to comply with generally held standards of social equality. This places them in direct conflict with their US Code status as a National Patriotic Organization. A National Patriotic organizations reflect the American ideals of liberty and freedom for all, not selective discrimination.
