President Obama, you campaigned on hope and change and we the American people gladly clamored for exactly that, electing you to office despite the challenges.
And we the American people demand that you fulfill that promise. And the best way to start is by removing the egregious violation of civil liberties that is the PATRIOT act and disbanding the Department of Homeland Security. Neither of these instruments of tyranny are compatible with a free and just America.
These were created by your predecessor in a reactionary fit of fear following the chaos of the crime committed on 9/11. Even that threat could never have truly justified this injustice, this gestating police state, this anti-American travesty that threatens to consume the American dream, people and the worlds future. End it.
