Close the “Haliburton Loophole” that was created in the Federal Energy Policy Act of 2005. Fracking is exempt from state and federal water regulations. These loopholes exempt the Fracking industry from adhering to water regulations when drilling and extracting natural gas as stated in the in the Underground Injection Control program of the Safe Drinking Water Act. Other exemptions can be found in the both the Clean Air Act and the Clean Water Act.
