Revoke HSBC's banking license until they compensate victims of drug violence/terrorism funded by their money laundering.

Created by L.L. on January 18, 2013

HSBC recently received only a $1.9 billion fine despite admitting to aiding various terrorist organizations, as well as Mexican drug cartels and the Iranian government in illegal banking activities including money laundering over the course of ten years.

As of now, no criminal prosecutions are planned, the stated reasons being that HSBC would likely lose their banking license, destabilizing the banking industry. Since 2006 over 54,000 people have been killed in the drug war in Mexico. It will take HSBC less than a month to recoup their $1.9 billion fine, but how long will it take the victims of their irresponsible and frankly, treasonous, actions to recover from their losses? Sign this petition and tell HSBC that people are more important than the bottom line!
