In June 3rd's primary election, state senator and neo-Confederate Chris McDaniel topped incumbent Senator Thad Cochran. Though the race will go to a runoff, the fact that McDaniel was able to do so well shows that Mississippi is no longer loyal to the Union and may in fact seek to restart the Civil War. The federal government cannot accept this, and must seek to preempt it by revoking Mississippi's statehood until the brewing rebellion can be quelled.
