revoke the National Football League's (otherwise known as the NFL) non-for profit status.

Created by H.M. on January 30, 2014

The NFL is a "non-for profit organization". A very very very rich one. Last year, its revenues reached an incredible 9 billion dollars. Taxpayers all over the country are forced to foot the bill for many things the NFL does by paying the taxes the NFL doesn't. For example, Judith Grant Long, a Harvard University professor of urban planning, calculates that league-wide, 70 percent of the capital cost of NFL stadiums has been provided by taxpayers. The NFL has admittedly become very good at two things: producing high-quality sports entertainment and exploiting taxpayers. Goodell, the commissioner, got $30 million in 2011, from an organization that does not pay corporate taxes. We urge Obama to end and revoke tax breaks that one of the most lucrative and profitable business gets.
