Revoke protections given by section 735 of the recently passed H.R. 933. Also known as the Monsanto Protection Act.

Created by R.M. on March 27, 2013

Section 735 of the recently passed H.R. 933 stop gap bill includes a dangerous provision, the Monsanto Protection Act, strips judges of their constitutional mandate to protect consumer and farmer rights and the environment, while opening up the floodgates for the planting of new untested genetically engineered crops, endangering farmers, citizens and the environment.

This section prevents litigation against those who would introduce GMOs into foods without approval from the USDA. It is those protections of the courts that can keep the public safe. When those rights are stripped, people can be seriously hurt. The USDA should also not be forced into automatically approving foods without proper screening.
