The Church of Scientology, an organization based on the teachings of second rate science fiction writer L. Ron Hubbard, is a dangerous cult that separates families, coerces its female clergy to have abortions, abuses the elderly, and is led by a man who uses an aura of fear and constant violence to keep his underlings in line. Their abuse of their critics, especially former members, is well documented. They hide their actions behind their status as a "religion." This status should be revoked nationally, as it already has in Texas. No other recognized religion treats its members with the disregard that the CoS does, nor does any other religion charge the fees they do for "services." It is not a church, it is a pyramid scheme. They should not be granted such protection. Tax the cult!
