Revoke the Tax Exempt status of religious organizations

Created by A.M. on March 24, 2014

We the people ask for reconsideration of tax exempt status of religious organizations. Churches use the same civil services that are paid for by tax-paying Americans, and it is completely unfair for them to not have to pay into the pot. Religion does not in and of itself merit tax exempt status, and puts unnecessary strain on the economy. Furthermore, it is stated within the Constitution that church and state are separate, and the state is not supposed to show any special treatment to religious organizations. Isn't that exactly what giving them tax exempt status is doing?
